Research the company

When being interviewed its always a good idea to have researched the company before hand I think.
So my question is.... what are the most important things to research? I don't want to waffle and bore my interviewer with dates about when the company was established.
Does anyone have any advice on what key things you should know about a company in general (I know it will be very specific for certain jobs so just after a general idea)

You need to relate the information you research to the role. So, if it is a sales role, you'd look at their sales figures, information on the product and so on. If it relates to hospitality (hotel for example) you'd need to know their letting rates.
Some companies will have key statements - usually generic (ish) statements on their policies and objectives.0 -
Well, I work in the charity sector. I expect to know what the mission statement is, and values are. I would read the news section. I would look at any lists and photos of staff (helps, especially when they forget to introduce themselves on interview day!)
I would go off the website and search the web for the company name to see if there is any general news which mentions them. I would search this website to see if they have any comments here. And I might look on big employment websites to see if they are advertising loads of jobs suddenly.
Anyone else have any ideas?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

As mentioned above - look at the News page on the company's website, get a feel for current projects / initiatives / developments.
Also try to find out real basics about the company - how big it is, is it UK based or a multi-national, that kind of thing.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I expect people to know my company's vision and priorities (easily found on our website). I ask who they think our main competitors are. If they know how many divisions we have (so how large we are).Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
