Best short term loan option?

I need to borrow about £500.00 to cover unexpected bills as soon as possible. I bank with Santander but don't think I'm able to arrange a loan at short notice. Without going to those payday loan (sharks) merchants can anyone recommend a loan provider for this type of amount? Intention is - get the cash/transfer - pay off…

Another idea would be to ditch the Santander 123 account, which I don't think you're getting value for money from anyway, and get paid to switch to First Direct or Nationwide. First Direct offer interest free overdrafts up to £250 above that it's 15.9% EAR which is cheaper than Satander's £1/day charge. Nationwide's FlexDirect account offers an interest free overdraft for the first 12 months, the limit is dependent on credit referencing.
