Sorry if this has been asked before.. I had quick scan trough old threads but couldn't find the answer....
I have bought some fresh soup mixes from Asda that were reduced due to todays date thinking i'd freeze when I get home.
But having read the back it says not suitable for home freezing.
Have I wasted money? or have any of you had success with freezing these packs ??

Toss them in the freezer. Take out when you want one, heat thoroughly.
If you are scared, pm me and I will test them for you. Testing will destroy the samples, obviously!0 -

Hi
What's in the pack ?
I'm presuming chopped fresh veg ?
Depending on the type of veg some may change texture as a result of freezing but should be ok.
They often say don't freeze because some of the ingredients have been previously frozen.

Hi Sooty&sweep
It's things like potato, swede, carrot, onion and herbs
Before i've bought ni the past and not eaten quick enough, then they go slimey and foam up when I boil them :-(
So I thought i'd buy and freeze the use as and when needed.

I freeze them and never noticed any issues, but if in doubt you could just make up the soup and freeze that for future use.0

They just print that on everything because it's easier to do that than to test/check/print different instructions on every recipe and "new" version - and there MIGHT be one odd flavour every 10 years that MIGHT be unsuitable for freezing ... but it won't be a regular/vegetable one.
They just print that on everything because they want you to bin stuff and not freeze it, so you'll be back to buy another one.
Just freeze it; it's fine.0 -

Usually the main issue with freezing is loss/change of texture. If you're going to blend the lot anyway, I can't see how it would matter0
