Forced into taking overdraft advice please?

What I've learned off this forum, is that keeping on top of your finances and saving money, is a full-time job. Realising after "a few minus 1" days, would have saved you £400.A few days later I realised that it would be cheaper to borrow from elsewhere
It sounds to me as if the branch staff were clever enough to know which of their financial products suited you best at the time. Good branch staff offer answers to the questions you didn't know you should ask ; bad ones discourage you from asking.0 -
You weren't 'forced' , you could have accepted you left it too late to take the cheaper loan but didn't want to do that.
They were trying to help you within their rules at the time.
If they hadn't helped you would you be complaining that they 'forced' you to keep a more expensive loan for x years?
You also had the choice to repay the overdraft from the cheaper loan savings but didn't.
What you probably should have done is renegotiate your new loan to factor in the early repayment charge of the other one at the time.
If anything your complaint should have been one at the time against the early repayment charge but I very much doubt it was an unfair term with a mainstream provider.0 -
