Preserving my credit history.. Will this affect it?

Hi All,
Wonder if any of you can answer the following.
I'm a potential FTB, had an offer accepted, survey done, gave notice on my rented place (which was shared house with friends) then sale fell through. Hence I've kind of ended up homeless, though in reality I've put the majority of my stuff into a garage and am squatting at my boyfriend's flat until I find somwhere else to live (Goodness knows how long before I find somewhere else).
My credit history is impeccable at this point. The house I've left have said I can stay on electoral role there, and even continue to have my post delivered there, though it's a 20 mile round trip to collect it.
My boyf credit history is appalling, plus he regularly has DCA at his door for previous tennants, and he only pays single person council tax as he lives alone.
Obviously I need to be on an electoral role and have a steady address to be able to qualify for a decent mortgage and maintina my good credit history. However, can I change my address to boyf's with my banks etc as a temporary address that won't be used in credit searches? Is there a special name for this?
Basically when it comes to buying a place I'll need a new AIP/DIP from a mortgage company so need to use my old address. Will changing my address with my banks etc show up on my credit record?
Hope that makes sense, Thanks all.

...sorry, couldn't resist.
I think that your credit history is linked to you and not a specific address so it should not be a problem, but maybe somebody with more knowledge may be along shortly to counter this.

Thanks Clive, anyone care to elaborate? .. promise to give you a "thanks" if you do! ;-)0

Do you have anything linking you to your bf?? if no...the law states that a credit search is done on the individual...not the property0

Actually I agree, Rain IS insane! ..... on to the point however, nothing to link me with bf financially but as he qualifies for single person council tax I didn't want to go onto electoral role at his (do not intend on being there for too long anyhow)... So was concerned that having my name on ER at one address but sending my post (bank statements etc) to anther address would adversly affect my credit rating.
Is this so?0
