Purchases Not In Stock

I ordered an item online and was quoted 6-9 weeks delivery. This isn't a problem, however I was billed upfront for the item, which I understand should not happen until the item is in stock or will be in stock within 30 days of taking payment (have I understood this correctly?)


Anyway, I missed a phonecall from the company about a week ago, presumably to discuss delivery of my order. I rung them back and was told they didn't know why I had been called but they would check with the member of staff that called and get back to me. Noone did.

Since then I have contacted them another three times and am yet to get any response regarding my order.

Suggestions?
