Marriage tax allowance

My husband was made redundant end of March this year so his redundancy and bonus was paid in April, approx. 7k redundancy and 6k bonus . He started a new job on the 10th April and took in his P45 2 weeks later, he has had 2 payslips so far (1st one only 8 days pay) and neither of them have had tax or NI contributions taken. Any ideas as to why?
Also his Tax code is now 1150L instead of the code for marriage tax allowance (I don't work) that we had last year.
Any help/advise would be gratefully appreciated.

It could be if the bonus was paid in April and was taxable the live reporting would indicate he was a higher rate taxpayer so Hmrc have taken the marriage allowance away.

Oh great. Total earnings for 17/18 including the bonus will be approx 26k. I assume i'll have to apply for it again then. Any idea why he has paid any tax yet on his new job?

How much is he actually earning in his new job ?

It sounds like the first payslip came before he had handed his P45 in, so his new employers wouldn't have been aware that he already had some (very high) earning figures for the current year.


Do they payslips give a figure for earnings/tax etc for the year to date ? aDo those figures include those from his P45 ?
