    If that is the case you need to ensure that your broker will source a lender who will allow the consideration of subsequent sale of the land, and look into if there is any time restriction within the lenders policy on how quickly this would be allowed to happen (e.g. you may not be able to do so until you have lived there 12 months, for example).

    It is an option, but the key thing is "consider" - There would be no guarantees that a lender would agree to it so you would have to be prepared for that to be the case. The broker should put you with a lender which achieves the best possible change of being able to do so though.

    If your current broker is saying that no lender will allow it (incorrect), or just that Nationwide won't allow it (in which case why are they placing your mortgage with them)?
