Pension Consolidation

Hi All,

Over the years i have accumulated several pensions with Aviva one formerly Personal pension with RBS currently worth £40k and one formerly a group pension with Norwich Union worth £16K. I currently have one active Group Pension with Standard Life worth £7k. As I am emigrating the Standard life pension will also be frozen. I'm thinking of combining the two Aviva Pensions with the Standard Life one, I'm not sure if this is a good idea, any advise would be most grateful.

You might prefer to consult an IFA with expertise in UK and your new country's pension rules.

Have you checked on your UK state pension situation?

Before leaving find out whether Standard Life will be willing to pay you money in your new country. For many countries, they won't. If yours is one of them a transfer away from them may be best. To one that will pay into the needed country.
