Credit file clean up companies.

Hello,
I've recently been discharged (end of Feb) having checked my file all of my creditors still have outstanding balances, they are all defaults from 2012/13 but still show a balance. I really want to clean this all up and have read the great guide on this forum on how to do it. However I have 18 of these balances on my account and as a father of 2 running his own business I really don't have the time to be sending off for hard copies of my file and writing letters to all these companies, I'd like to pay a company to do this for me.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
When I try and google it I just come across companies selling the usual BS that they will get me a high street credit card blah blah, I'm not that gullible but am genuinely short of time so happy to pay a firm to handle this for me.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not aware of any companies offering the service you seek. I expect it would be quite difficult to offer as most banks wouldn't want to deal with a third party.
For a lowish effort first step, I'd get a free account with noddle, and raise a dispute on all the accounts showing an error. Far from all of the banks will fix the entries just by doing this, but it will hopefully reduce the number and make chasing the rest less daunting.0 -
I know it can sound time consuming but if you use the template letter on the clean up post its pretty straight forward - you could do them in batches of 4 or 5 so you can keep track of them. Print them out - stop off at the post office and send them all with proof of postage. There's no mad rush - it doesn't matter if it takes a few months.
We are all busy with families and jobs but your CF is important and crucial to the health of your financial future. Some things you just need to make time for.0 -

Perhaps you don't need this said but - your finances need to be given sufficient priority and time to ensure that they are properly managed. It's not a choice if you want to be in control. In year's to come you will appreciate the attention given to the subject.0 -
Thank you for your comments, I'll make this a priority to deal with in that case.0

Do the clean up yourself ... did all of mine online via secure measure / email forms and telephone . Absolutely zero need get a company do this for you.0

If you ain't got time write a few letters and make a few calls, fair doo's that's your call... just leave your credit files as they are in a bad way, who cares eh.0

I would agree with some previous posters, don't think about paying someone else to do this. In all fairness you probably aren't in too much of a rush for this to be fixed, as you are unlikely to be wanting or able to take out a loan or mortgage in the next couple of years.
It actually paid me to not be too proactive with chasing my previous lenders to update the credit records. Santander sent me a letter to tell me that I owed them £2500 earlier this year. I rang them up and they tried to insist that they would be keeping my balance open until I paid. :rotfl:I raised a complaint, as I didn't want them to treat someone less bolshy/more vulnerable than me in this way. My complaint was upheld and they compensated me and apologised.
Just get a noddle report, and make a couple of calls/send off a couple of letters here and there. It doesn't all have to be done today.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)
