Help to Buy - which credit reference agency?

I am considering using the HTB 20% equity loan scheme; looking through the paperwork, part of the process is completing a property information form (this must be signed by both the buyer and the developer building the house prior to a mortgage application with a bank).
If all goes well, a successful application generates an ATP form (authority to proceed) from the HTB agent.
Looking at the property information form, it mentions that the HTB people will review your application with a credit reference agency? This makes sense, I don't have a problem with this.
Is this true? If so, which one? Just wondering?
Thank you for your help.

The Property Information Form (PIF) is signed only by the applicant. A copy of the reservation signed by applicant and developer accompanies it and this submission triggers the issue of the Authority To Proceed (ATP).
The HTB Agent does not conduct any credit check. It carries out only affordability checks and trusts the mortgage offer from your lender later in the process to indicate your credit worthiness.I am a mortgage broker. Thank you Kingstreet; I can why you have 16,735 messages of thanks! You clearly know what you're talking about. I on the other hand read up as much as I can but still seem to misunderstand what's going on!

As a newbuild specialist, we've been submitting documentation to HTB Agents since April 2013. It's just second nature now.I am a mortgage broker.
