Wages always wrong

Im getting pretty fed up with it now basically im owed 2 days holiday pay as they took my OT hours id done that week to cover my two days signed off holiday. This is now the second time theyve done it. I was promised by the manager and the accts dept that all monies owing to me would be paid in this months wages .............wrong nothing plus this months wages are £140 short as well. Ive put it in writing asking that all monies are paid to me that are owing with immediate effect. Ive spoke to my union and now looking at the grievance route. I get 30 days holiday per year and so far this year ive had 4 days and had to wait two months for the first two days after they did exactly the same using my OT hours and now theyve done it yet again . This a big company with in excess of 3500 staff across the country i just dont see how mistakes are made like this thats if they are mistakes which im now doubting they are plus im not the only one whose wages are wrong this month plus we were told our site had hit target for first quarter which we all get 1% of salary for which was payable this month and guess what..................Nothing and the response was "its changed now its done on the area as a whole rather than the site" we had no warning of this if again its true plus its written in our contracts which to me mean they have to notify us of a change of contract.

What does your contract say about how you get overtime paid? My company pays overtime as time in lieu so this week I did 8hrs overtime and I'm paid that back by being given an extra day's paid holiday in addition to my annual entitlement. Many companies use this method especially those where you're on salary with annualised hours.

But there wasn't a question, and if there had been, the answer would have been "you have called in the union, and they have told you what to do". There's not really, therefore, anything for us to say!

Stop doing OT in the pay periods you take holiday,, they don't have the hours to use to cover the holidays.

what period does your holiday run? is it april-march or jan-dec? and how much holiday have you taken within that period? it may well be that you haven't accrued enough holiday so they used your OT as toil instead? when i worked for a hotel this is what they did, as we could only really take what we had accrued so far.

Are you on fixed hours or is it flexible working? If it's fixed hours it shouldn't be difficult to solve but if it's flexible (like mine - support work when no 2 weeks shifts are the same) then Id email the whole shifts through from the last 2 months, put the ball in their court but I normally say I think I'm due x and see what they say

My holidays are jan to dec and i get 30 days a year not inc bank holidays etc. Im just fed up with chasing wage probs i would say ive had to do it at least 10 times in last 3 years. Thing is it also effects my pension as i put less in which is matched by the company.

Update ... After i was told by the accts my owing money would be paid into this months wages transpired it wasnt, I raised the issue with the GM who i had a meeting with and he agreed i was owed this money also, The accts person i originally emailed asking where was the money owing had e mailed my GM telling him that basically i was talking out my backside and they owed me nothing even thou they told me to my face i was owed this money. The GM e mailed the accts telling them i was far from happy and this money should be paid straight away ............so far nothing, Other people have also said their wages are short. Really do feel something underhand is going on here. Plus our quarterly bonus was due to be paid which it wasnt when asked why the management told us it was changed at beginning of year and althou we did hit our target we wouldnt be getting it with no further explaination needless to say the place is full of rather unhappy people. Nothing at all was mentioned about it been changed at any point prior
