Where can I buy sliced strips of red cabbage?
I have tried Sainsburies and tesco and asda and iceland and no luck
I'm looking for a package/bag of sliced red cabbage lots of pieces like this

I have seen one takeaway place offer them as part of a salad in pita bread. But I am looking for a way I can get them from a shop, so one can mix it into whatever food. I wouldn't be very good or efficient with cutting so i'm looking for ready done ones.

I thought I had seen pots of it at tesco in the veg aisle with the ready prepared stuff. Maybe a seasonal item? Perhaps it's eaten more in winter months - I see it more of a winter veg, braised with apples & spices.
Sorry, not much help, more of an observation.0 -
Though i'm not looking at it with apples. Just plain.0

yes, sorry, I meant it was plain sliced but just saying that a popular way of cooking it is to braise it adding apples, red wine vinegar & spices.
What about a local greengrocers? You could explain why you're unable to slice it & ask them how much they would charge to do it for you.0 -
I know you said you dont want to do it yourself - but it is very easy

or if you really dont want to use a knife you can get good results with a mandolin slicer0 -
I have a slicing/grating attachment on my food processor that will do a quartered cabbage in about 30 seconds. If you don't have one, do you have a friend who does? Do a couple of cabbages and freeze it in portions. It defrosts well and will save you money compared to buying ready sliced.0

problem is I have a condition that gives me issues with noise so i'd have to get ear defenders too, and i'd want to be able to use the thing 24/7 without waking flatmates.. but food processors are loud. And cleaning a food processor blade can be a bit involved for me.. like removing it, rinsing it, it's like 4 little knives in a circle, making sure i've got every part, drying it, putting it back on. For me, with my condition, it's a bit overwhelming so i'd rather ready made. I might try a greengrocer and see if they can cut it. And at some point I might experiment with a mandolin slicer but not electric 'cos they're too noisy and are more involved when it comes to cleaning them. Note- I might be able to plug a food processor in in the garage, run it , then take it back in.0

Apologies if it's because you have a disability but you do seem to be putting a lot of obstacles in the way of a relatively simple task.
I wouldn't suggest a mandolin if you have a problem with blades on a food processor. They can be lethal.
I made braised red cabbage last weekend and sliced up the cabbage perfectly well with my usual bread knife. The recipe says to cut the cabbage in quarters and remove the hard centre but it'd just as easy to slice away from the outside until you get to the central core.0 -
What maman said!
Use a knife and within a few minutes you'll get the hang of chopping it the way you want it.0 -
I think we should respect what the OP has said. For whatever reason, and it is not for us to question, they would like ready sliced red cabbage.
You mention flat mates OP, would they be able to help you or do you have a regular visitor or family who could help?
Muscle food seem to sell it
