Sainsburys Loan Help

Hi, I've always gone with Sainsbury's bank for a loan, paid them back early. Never had any issues. I need a new car and called last week to borrow more on top of an existing loan. Went through all the guff and was approved. Sent the signed paperwork, and stupidly reserved a car. I called Sainsburys yesterday and they said it's still with their review team and they may or may not require additional info and they have 5 days to decide and then funds would be released 3-5 working days after that. This was news to me, so with the bank holiday looming I don't think the garage will hold the car any longer. Hopefully I'll get my deposit back.
Anyway is this standard practice or does this mean i'm likely to now be rejected.
Thanks.

It doesn't mean anything other than they have not yet made a decision.
Hold off buying any more cars until you get a decision though.0
