This idea is based on something I found in one of my papercrafts books. It was originally to make a picture frame but I think they make lovely hangings/xmas tree decorations.
PHOTO:

YOU WILL NEED:
Coloured sugar paper (I bought a pack of 100 A4 sheets for £1.00)
Bowl
Heart (or any) shape cutter/tin
PVA Glue
Boiling Water.
INSTRUCTIONS
1) Tear the sugar paper into small pieces. I estimate I used about 10 x A4 sheets. It makes it quicker ripping 2-3 sheets at a time. The pieces need to be about the 1-2 cm. It doesn't need to be exact though. Place the pieces in a bowl.
2) Pour boiling water onto the sugar paper. Add a small squirt of PVA glue too as this helps it all bond together. Give it a good stir. Leave 'mix' to cool.
3) Once cool grab a handful of the paper mixture and squeeze out the excess water. Press the paper mixture firmly into the tin until it is full and tightly packed.
4) Leave to dry in a warm place. It can take a couple days. I placed mine out in the sunshine (not much of that at this time of the year though)! Placing on top of a radiator would help dry it quicker too (or in the oven). Before it is completely dry uses a skewer to make a hole, to tie the ribbon through.

I remember making an angel/choirboy type decoration at school as a kid that was alot of fun, great little homemade pressie for kids to give to grandparents......basically you get an old readers digest book or similar, and a christmas tree bauble and you need a can of sprayable paint in gold or silver, you fold every page in the readers digest book, firstly from the top right corner to the spine and then that folded piece in half again so you have like an elongated triangle, when youve done the whole book you should be able to bring the front and back cover round to meet to form a circular shape (this will look like a dress or thingy that choirboys wear), then you glue the bauble to the top to make the head and spray the pages gold or silver and could go on to add a little hymn book or wings, depends how imaginative you are...its actually quite effective and great fun to make, kepp the kids quiet for a while too, lots of folding to be done0

Do they need to stay in the cookie cutters while drying?0 -

I left mine in there for about the first day (I was scared they'd lose their shape), then I took them out and hung them on the washing line in the sunshine.:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0
