:j Tonight my mum talked me into going to bingo with her:eek: as the friend she usually goes with is away. Anyway she paid:D then she won £25, which we shared:D then I won £100, which we shared so at the end of the night I was £62.50 in profit:D
.
so added to my total that is £62.50 + £96.55 = £159.05:j :j
I was trying for £5 a day but am now on track for the £10 a day challenge.
Listed some of my books on amazon too so may make on that

Hello all! I've had a slow weekend but it was deliberate really. Was feeling worn out with all the MS I was doing. I had to cancel one on Saturday because I couldn't face a half hour journey on the bus and another half hour back just to eat some fried chicken.
But am feeling all chirpy and enthusiastic again today. Spoke to my dad last night and he's decided to gift us the coffee table we bought when he was here last month. So he'll be sending us £60, which will come in very handy to buy extra duvets and pillows for all the guests we're having over the next two months. And my sister has assured me that she will pay for the food her family eats when they are with us - which will make it a lot easier for us to pay our way when we take them sightseeing. And though I really resent the fact that we'll be paying for EVERYTHING for the 2 months my in laws will be here, I can't say I didn't know we'd have to so I might as well take it with good grace. Anyway, none of that is relevant here as I'm not considering that extra cash as earned. here is my score so far. Fallen behind a bit but I have some books I can ebay (though to be honest, I don't think they'll make much after fees) and a pair of new shoes which I can't wear anymore since the chiropodist has banned me from high heels.
So hopefully, I can scrape in a bit more.
Everyone is doing so well! Lets keep it up - only half a month left!

Thanks shopsalot. I was brought up in India where the concept of credit didn't exist till around 20 years ago. And the concept of never a borrower be was instilled into us with great firmness by my parents! So I guess I'm culturally and genetically programmed to avoid debt.
But of course I was privileged never to fall into a situation where debt was the only way out. When I read the diaries on this board I am filled with admiration at how cheerfully and doggedly all of you work to get yourselves out of a bad situation - which in most cases you couldn't have avoided. I'm sure I would have gone to pieces in a similar situation
It even scares the pants off me to think about taking a mortgage and tying myself into enormous repayments for 25 years. I hope I'll be able to handle that situation as well as all of you when the time comes.
Oh, and great job breaking the barrier this month - that's really awesome!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)
