Iceland foods' supervisor tried to snatch my phone!

Good grief! I've had a rotten day at work and this post has cheered me up no end
I know that's not at all constructive, so I'll add some advice. Ensure you know your rights before kicking off. 0 -
I've listened to lots of my friends & aquaintances having a rant because 'x' shop have told them they can't return something and have a full refund because they didn't like it when they got home.
"And that's against the law" they bleat.
Well, no, it's not actually.0 -
thanks. I have emailed them if that is for online sales or all and what about the price match difference? thanks anyways.
Where did Iceland say they offer price match?
It's not acceptable in this culture to be rude to staff in order to get your own way.
Abusing someone in this way :"During his call, me and husband were discussing with each other what kind of a supervisor is he who does not know returns policy "
Is considered to be very rude. It's making a scene , in order to show someone up , it is considered aggressive.0 -
In fairness I'd be pretty !!!!ed off. You kicked off because he was following company policy, you ganged up on him rediculing him when he was trying to go above and beyond and you were filming him / taking pictures.
All this for sake of 2 poundish you sound like a terrible human being, regarding consumer rights they went above and beyond by even contemplating a refund0 -
I do think it somewhat over the top to return a box of washpowder to a store for a refund because you've found it cheaper somewhere else.0
-
And you did not bully Iceland staff into going beyond their policy!!!!!
How much did it cost to lug the Surf to the shop.
I price my time at £50 per hour so £2 would have cost me less than smoking a cigarette.
You poor snowflake!!!0 -
Summary of this thread:
You've posted it to cause bad publicity to the store.
Its very probably libellous and Iceland probably have cctv of you.0 -
With anger management issues like this I really hope Tesco don't let OP anywhere near their customers.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Re the bit in bold:
It really does depend on the individual store's policy whether you are allowed to return an item.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'illegal'.
The law states that stores are not obliged to allow returns unless the item is faulty. This refers to in-store purchases.
As for it being 'over the top' - that is my own personal opinion.
If I'd bought a dress from M&S that cost £50 and when I got it home, I didn't like the colour then, yes, I would return it.
If I bought a box of washpowder and found it cheaper elsewhere, then, no, I wouldn't waste the time and effort to return it.
And no, I've never had any arguments with any staff member of any retail store as I know my rights and am capable of dealing with any problems in a calm, measured and polite manner.
And I wouldn't dream of videoing a member of a retail store doing their job and certainly wouldn't comment to my partner about their ability or inability to do their job in front of them.
Please do not type in capitals, that is the internet equivalent of shouting and is frowned upon.0 -
hi everyone, Sorry this is a lengthy post but only reading a little context will give you the idea of the whole story.
me and my husband tried to return a surf box at Slough Iceland today, which was bought from Southall. We got the same box in cheaper price. The supervisor ill-treated us by lying and misbehaving.
1. When we took the box to the Slough store, the supervisor said he will not take it as it is not from there store. We said that all shops take returns from other shops (I personally work at Tesco so I know this is legal). and other Iceland in store takes everything back.
I'll just stop here. Of course its legal,it is not however a legal right.
So does this colour the rest of your post?0
