Forms of ID

I guess with paperless billing this gets harder. The only thing that I can find, for my Coventry BS mortgage application, is a £99 rent outstanding letter.
I never not paid my rent, and at that time it was being paid by Direct Debit. Am I better to delay things and try to source something else? Do utility companies send a written bill on request?
I do have letters from my pension provider, would that be ok?

Is it to prove your ID or your address ?

One item I have used successfully in the past for ID, if you can bear to hang on the phone, is to ring HMRC and ask them if they can send you a tax coding notice (assuming that you don't have one already - I think they only mail them if you are on a non-standard tax code).

I think it is sorted now, sent off a council tax statement, they accept longer than 3 months with those.
Payslips have my address on too.

Most lenders accept electronic copies of bank statements so long as it shows account number, sort code, name and address.

They have a employer printed payslip with my address on too, but the bank statements dont have my address on.
I think it should be straight forward, but lets see.
