Compression Stockings on Prescription

Options
I wear compression stockings for my varicose veins and until recently used to get them on prescription. Lat week I was told by my doctor they are no longer available on prescription yet all the information I can find seems to contradict this.

Before I go back to my GP I would like to know if anyone can point me towards some definitive information please as they are really expensive to buy.

  • speak to your pharmacy. They will tell you what will be covered under prescriptions.

  • This suggests they are available on prescription, but it might be area-specific

Are you looking at the kind of stocking people use on long flights?

The compression stockings my Mum had on prescription were in a completely different league to these. I doubt that flight stockings would have been of any use to her.
