I used Mortgage success ltd in Manchester, all done by email and phone and they were great. Ive emailed them several times over the last 18 months or so and they always replied quickly even though I was in no position to need a mortgage broker. Emailed again in March this year and they thought I may be able to get a mortgage.
Ive got an unusual work history, recently took 3 months unpaid leave and have terrible credit history (historic).
Took about 6 weeks from initial enquiry to mortgage offer with high street lender, just waiting to exchange now. Seemed like forever to me but I'm impatient, it would have taken a lot longer if I tried on my own and I wouldn't have got a mortgage anyway! Was always kept updated by phone and email as well.
Orinarily if I had seen someone with one post singing the praises of a company, I would think it was someone from the company making the post but as this is my business I know that is not the case.

My husband and I went through a broker recommended by a friend. Although we don't have adverse credit, my husband is not an EU/UK citizen, although he has indefinite leave with no restrictions and a full time job. Any mortgage broker worth his salt will be fine. I agree though that just going to a local one may not work...we phoned 2 local brokers who put the phone down after my husband explained his visa status. Try looking for recommendations from friends or have a look around this website for some good advice. We are waiting for our formal mortgage offer with Halifax at the moment!0

I didn't think of that, I can confirm I'm definitely not a mortgage broker!
I've lurked for years on this forum but have only just signed up. Mainly because I'm probably going to have lots of questions about solicitors, searches, conveyancing and anything generally first time buyer related.0 -
