Lentils are good in dhals. This recipe from the Jamie Oliver website looks straightforward and tasty

When using lentils might I also suggest you add some asafoetida as well to, ahem, assist with the digestion of said pulses.....:o:D.:hello:0

Here's mine,
Chop an onion or two and gently saute in a little oil and butter for about five minutes. Then add a level tsp each of chilli powder, turmeric, coriander, cumin and ginger. You can also add fresh chopped garlic or powdered, and garam masala if you have it. Gently fry for a minute. Add a big mugful of lentils, three mugfuls of water and a vege stock cube.
Let the mixture bubble away gently adding more water as required. You are looking for a porridge consistency. It takes about 20 mins. You can add tinned chopped tomatoes, creamed coconut, spinach, veg, tinned chickpeas, whole hard boiled eggs. Top it with fried onions. It's up to you.0 -

The dhal freezes well but may need extra liquid when reheating.

I often make Delia's egg and lentil curry. It is absolutely gorgeous and easy to make. The recipe is easy to find onlineThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0
