The Tories said they would tackle ‘rogue private parking operators’, whose practices have been repeatedly exposed by the Daily Mail.

This echoes a promise made by the Coalition government, which it failed to follow through on.

I am sure it will happen, in time. When I was a boy you could drink and drive, !!!!!exuality was a criminal offence, women were paid a lot less than men, kids were caned in schools, thugs birched, now all sorted. In the grand scale of things this is a mere annoyance.

At least five million voters every year are getting clobbered by punitive private parking charges, most of which are invalid. Now is the time to ask candidates what they are going to do about it.

Write to newspapers, berate canvassers, start a campaign: just do something other than moan about it.
