recommend an external hard drive please

Forum friends and party people, I am looking for some recommendations from you!
I need to replace my external hard drive. It will be used mainly to back up data, documents, photos etc from my pc.
Current one is kaput, it was a WD my passport around 500gb. The length of time it lasted did not justify the price tag ( at the time)
I was really surprised that it only worked properly for a fairly short time after the warranty expired.
All advice gratefully received.

In reality they are all much of a muchness. Just buy one that fits your budget and capacity needs.0
