Funny that people think when you are low budget that you eat rubbish all the time.
We don't, I get a few ready meals in for husband for reasons I will not go in to, I don't like him using the gas cooker while I'm not there so he can nuke them.
We eat wholemeal bread and pasta. I often plate up an extra meal for the next day for him. I use steak mince for spag bog.
We have decent cheese. I never water milk down. I buy branded Branston/Heni beans.
We get very little in the value range. I stopped buying value juice as I can get the next level up for cheaper. We buy in the value range Pasta Sauce, Jaffa cakes and I think that it it.
I buy and keep in the odd packet of wedges. We have a sunday roast every week Pork, Chicken, Beef. We have salmon/Tuna once a week.
We do this all on a budget of a £100 a month just for food. This month so far I have about £30 left as I have a freezer full. Which I need to sort out.
When get fuel from Sainsbury's I often go about 7pm and get reduced to clear. Like 5p for 4 taste the difference bagels. 40p for a £3.99 bunch of flowers. etc etc.
We have fresh fruit as well using frozen veg for main meals. I try and make sure that we have our 5 portions of fruit and veg everyday.
I wish I had the money that it suggest to spend on a couple for food a month. Even at £60 a week that is £240 a month. I just can't afford it with me working and husband who is on benefits.

I really need some ideas as to how you shop on £50 a week. We have a budget of 300 a month for 2 adults a 2 year old in nappies and a baby on the way, and that also has to cover alcohol, meals out, etc etc.
Could anybody possibly give me examples of what you buy in a week and from where? just to get me started.
My partner has asked me to do research on this, I just dont know where to start.
Hope I have posted this in the right post - find it hard to navigate round this site (its grumpy turnips partner, grumpy is a pro)

Hello
I'd start by looking and posting on the OLd Style board - there's loads and loads of help on there:
