CCJ and Default - When Will My Credit Score get better?

Hi Lovely People.

In 2012 I ended up with a ccj, completely ignored all the letters because I didnt really think it was important. It was for a year of university fees which I stupidly believed I would pay off myself and when the bills came in I just didnt think anything would happen and that eventually I would get a smack on the wrists and i would pay up... £4000 later and here we are... BELIEVE ME IM SCREAMING AT MYSELF NOW.

I now pay everything on time, phone bills, and the ccj debt I have religiously paid off every week ever since...I have no overdraft or credit cards. I have been keeping an eye on my credit score every month for the last 2 years and its getting no better.

Its currently at very poor on noddle and experian and I know that in 2 years in will drop off, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea of what happens for the next two years until this happens??

I have a car on finance so know i can get credit (although paid a stupid amount of interest)

Is it likely that in another 6 months things will look better for me credit score wise? Or is it a case of simply putting up and shutting up for the next 2 years?

If any one has an advice please let me know.

Don't get too hung up on your score, but the ccj will obviously have an effect while it's there and as you know, it stays till 2018.

A settled ccj would look better if you can afford to pay what remains.

Being on the electoral register will help

Getting a credit card (and paying it off in full each month) will also help
