I can't speak for in branch process but normally when I submit an application I put the documents on that day for the underwriters, they assess with 24 hours and the. It is just a case of waiting for the valuation. Once that has been carried out the offer is issued within 48 hours.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi,
I am using a broker and had AIP couple months ago,
finally had an offer accepted and he broker processed the application to Natwest last Friday 26th May,
Valuation monies were taken out Saturday 27th May and today i have been updated with "they are assessing the documentation"
so it has been 6 days and no answer yet, the agent selling us the house has also said the valuation has not been booked yet!
so assuming mine will be taking a while for a decision..
how did you get on with yours??
does anyone know when i can expect a decision? or if there are currently any delays?
oh, and we are no FTB we are moving home, so thought it would be quicker than this....

Hi Karl. It's taken a bit longer than I hoped, rough timeline is I had branch appointment on 16th, text to say survey booked on 17th, survey/valuation money taken on 18th, survey done on 22nd, Natwest had a copy of report within 48 hours. I had to resubmit gift deposit letter yesterday. Apparently my application is now under final review so hoping to get the offer confirned today or tomorrow.
Good luck, I guess you are remortgaging so maybe application process is a bit different?0 -
Hello,
Just wondered how you had got in with your application? We recently submitted a mortgage application to NatWest and am still waiting to hear back. The wait is killing me!0 -
So I got my mortgage offer yesterday
it took 3 weeks from submitting application. Good luck, are you using the online tracker? 0 -
Hi All,
i finally got the mortgage offer for full amount from Natwest on 12th june,
so it took just over 2 weeks from beginning application to offer,
it did only take 4 days from Valuation to offer...
we are still waiting for chain to catch up and look to complete in July.
how is everyone elses going?
not looking forward to the stresses of moving day but worth it when we are in!
i used a broker call New homes Advice (mine is not a new build) and they did not charge a penny as they get commission from the bank for anyone who needs a good broker, they were fantastic all the way through and always keeping us updated. When the chips are down, go for broke and put them all on Red!:p:beer:0 -
well done on your mortgage offer, now for contracts and completion,
we did not use online tracker, our broker was chasing for us and they kept us well up to date.
i would always recommend using a broker especially FTB as they only go for lenders they feel will almost certainly give you the deal.
they got us a 90% deal on purchase of £230k at 2.4% interest rate so cannot complain at that.
and were free so well happy with them.
i would suggest using them in future, New Homes Advice
takes a lot of the stress and worry away,
also, having access to a scanner at work or home helps, as you can scan docs over saving on time.
good luck on your move.:jWhen the chips are down, go for broke and put them all on Red!:p:beer:0
