Hi everyone!
I have just upgraded from my old stand alone gas oven/grill to some new fangled all in one electric oven. It has cool walls, integrated grill, fan, light (ooh), defrost function etc. And is also the smallest oven I have ever seen. Wish me luck getting Xmas dinner ready in it!
My question is - does anyone know how to change baking times from what I am used to? I have already figured out that with the fan, there is no longer a cooler and hotter shelf, just one constant temperature, but I am dreading baking my first cake. The instructions do have a huge list of how long to roast a chicken for, but I'm nine months pregnant and can no longer read anything too informative.
Also, does it take longer to heat up than the gas oven did?
The oven came with a new shiny gas hob too. I had it connected yesterday and found I had trouble getting the rings lit. Hubby just stood there laughing at me. Turns out they are childproof and you have to zap them longer than necessary otherwise the gas just switches off again. Is it just me, or is everything becoming more complicated?...
