Morrisons saver stamps no longer redeemable for cash?

For the past few years I have saved Morrisons stamps and either used them for the Christmas dinner shop or cashed them in if we were visiting somebody for dinner.
I noticed early this year they had changed the cards but thought nothing of it.
Anyway, I was reading the T&Cs on the new card and it says not redeemable for cash and no cash change will be given.
Doesn't appear to have been reported anywhere from what I can find on Google or here.
Thankfully I have £100 on an old card (with old T&Cs) and only £25 on the new one.
Pretty bloody annoying though. I'm going to revert to sticking a fiver a week in a money box or something instead I think

Personally always thought putting money on store cards was always a shame.
You are basically giving them money and they hope you forget about it over time so they can grab the money.
People should stick with the only valid voucher which is accepted and valid in millions of shops - paper money of the realm. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -
I didn't think they ever give cash back on their savings stamps
I thought the whole idea of a supermarket saving scheme was you bought stamps throughout the year , ready for the Christmas big shop.. the supermarket offers you a bonus amount if you saved a amount before a certain date. Plus they know they got you shopping in their store for Christmas ..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Bought £20 of saving stamps today to add to some i already had. Not bought any for ages as things been a bit tight this year 🙁 But previous years was a regular saver as find it really helpful come silly season. Although I will more than likely use them before the end of the year, I see these have got an expiry date of 31/12/17 😮 Surely that's not right? I kind of understand the not being able to exchange for cash but why have an expiry date and so short in my opinion?0

I have always saved Morrisons stamps and cashed them in at Christmas. I use is as a little Christmas buffer. I know its silly letting them hold my money all year. I also had my stamps on an old card so they had to give me cash today, but they have stopped it as of this year. I won't be doing this next year.0

I’ve just found out about this after going to Morrisons yesterday to spend my stamps and when I got to checkout my bill was just over £75 and was told if I didn’t spend the full £100 I would lose the twenty five pounds left on my card, very angry that this wasn’t made clear when purchasing the stamps, I don’t see why if they don’t want to give any cash back, that they could stamp over the used stamps and leave the rest to use at a later date!0
