P60 tax amount incorrect

Have just received my P60 and immediately noticed that the amount of tax paid shown seemed low. I've gone back through my payslips for the year and it's about £300 short. I have no idea how to sort this or how vital it is to deal with, so any advice would be gratefully received!

  • Are you certain you didn't get a tax refund via your wages somewhere along the line?

Is your pay correct or is that wrong as well?

If you are certain it's wrong the only thing you can do is speak to your employer.

I think you can go onto your personal tax account on gov.uk to see what information your employer has sent to HMRC but how much that will help I don't know, it's really something to take up with your employer/payroll people.

You could potentially be sent a tax bill by HMRC or get a smaller tax repayment (if you're due one) but that would depend on what your income, tax allowances etc are.
