Free range Christmas turkeys

  • Last year I bought a really expensive free range organic turkey from a local butchers and it cost £57, and I have to say it was no nicer than the mass produced supermarket one my friend bought - if anything hers was nicer. I think this year I will look out for a frozen free range in the supermarket and pay around £20, which is more than enough I think. When I was little we sometimes had Capon, but I don't think you can get them any more, but I remember them as being really nice.

I just looked on the Jimmy's farm website and a 20lb turkey is £103, which is IMO, ridiculous.

Goodness this sounds pricey, I pay around £8 for a chicken so was obviously expecting a turkey to be a good bit more than that but some of the prices quoted here are shocking! :undecided
