Nationwide mortgage application

Hi everyone. Im really at my wits end with Nationwide at the moment. We applied well over a month ago for a mortgage through a independent mortgage advisor and its taken them so long to book a survey (valuation) that they required up to date bank statements! We bank with them so don't see why they couldn't look themselves.. Our sellers are keen to get things moving but Nationwide seem to ask for so many bits of "proof". Is anyone else having issues like this?
Me and my boyfriend are applying as first time buyers both aged under 25 so could it be that the application is with a specialist underwriter?

Different departments. A Chinese wall will be in place.0 -
Hmmm i thought this may have been the case. We are both finding it so difficult for them to approve anything. They have taken the money for our survey over 2 weeks ago. The government want younger people to own their own homes but mortgage lenders are just making it impossible

If you bank with Nationwide, your broker fills in a sheet with your account number and sort code number and uploads that. Statements are not required by the lender.
Nationwide instructs Countrywide surveyors its panel manager. Countrywide has to find a surveyor in your area with the time and experience to do a homebuyer's report. Then they have to get an appointment with the vendor, which can also be difficult at times. That's why we always recommend you leave the lender and its surveyor to do the mortgage report and valuation and contract your own surveyor for a more in-depth report. There are more surveyors employed by corporate survey firms used by lenders qualified to do the valuation than there are to do the survey.I am a mortgage broker. I'm surprised with this, Nationwide were really good with us. Valuation booked on the Tuesday mortgage offer accepted on the following Monday. No statements required.
Was there any issues with the valuation of the property?
I hope it moves quicker for you and you get the offer you wanted!
