CCJ Advice

I received a ccj today regarding a debt from over 6 years ago. It's probably about 8 years old. Would they be able to enforce this due to the age of the debt. I have been told by people that once it is over 6 years old. They're is nothing that can be done about it. How would I go about getting this point across if that advice is true??

They have six years from last debt acknowledgement date to start proceedings to get a CCJ. After that, they have six years to enforce said CCJ (can be more if the court will allow it).0

So where would I stand if I am only hearing about the ccj today?0

Once legal action has been taken the Limitations act no longer applies, unless the debt was statute barred before legal action commenced.
If that was the case, the only thing you can do now is to apply to the court to set the judgement aside.
This has a cost unfortunately of £255.00, although you may qualify for fee remission if you are on a low income.
Search "judgement set aside" for more info.

It's not how old the debt is - it's when you last acknowledged it, e.g. made payment, wrote to them about it, etc. etc.
