I would make it fairly close to giving out, where it's Butter I worry it could go off if made too early.

On the positive side most of the time it takes is for it to firm up, so it's not too time consuming :D

Yes that's a good point. Also the earlier I make it the more likely I am to eat it haha.

The oreo fudge recipe I have is super simple too only 3 ingredients! Must find Recipe!

Hope you don't mind me posting but I also have a Christmas craft collection. However, I hardly seem to use much of it, just take it out, sort it looking longingly at it and then put it back :rotfl:.

This could be the year you put it to good use, nannywindow :)

I have designed this years Christmas Cards...and will finish the second one day (dv!)...I start them fairly early as disability makes me very slow!...this year it is Christmas Dove motif (embroidered - mainly cross-stitch)

I have also done the knitting for my first snowman....about 5 inches tall...he will now need stuffing...and then I think a knitted hat!

Operation Christmas Child Boxes are coming along nicely for this year...waiting for the back to school stationery to be reduced and I will grab bits for the boxes.

The wall calendar has been turned to 'August'....4 more pages to go!!!....Christmas is coming!!!!

A thread i'm not too late to start being a part of :j

I have made a really good start on DS (4) his Birthday is 10 days before Christmas and so I tend to buy and then divide. Under my bed is full of stuff for him. He's into Playmobil, Lego, Octonauts, Disney Cars and Thomas so easy but epensive. Very few things have been purchased full price. I'm waiting for the Smiffs sale in Sept and the Sainsbugs sale in Oct and I always put aside about £30 for anything he might decide he MUST HAVE a few weeks before hand.

I've not even thought about my husband (it's also his Birthday before Christmas) - he is literally Mr. Impossible when it comes to gifts. We generally tend to agree on just filling a stocking for each other so LO thinks FC has been to us all.

I then have inlaws (in their 80's), my step dad and his wife, bio dad and his wife and mum and her BF, grandparents x 2, my best friends 3 kids (they're all sorted. 10yr old girl has lego i got on sale months ago, 4yr old boy has regifted presents my son already had, new baby- currently being born lol has a lamaze doll and a few toys picked up from carboot... might buy a pretty dress if i see one when carbooting).
I also need to decide - sorry have the discussion! Whether niece and nephew are being given presents this year or not. (neice will be 18 and nephew 14 but neither has thanked us in years for birthday and christmas gifts and we havent seen them since Jan and with nothing planned to see them at any point either).

LO starts school soon and i'm hoping to make gifts. But i am NOT crafty at all :rotfl: I can however bake.

I guess I should think about teacher gifts also.

I will have plenty of time on my hands as im not returning to work for the forseeable so whether i'll be able to put together some kind of foody hampers?
Nobody ever seems to like anything we give them. So I always feel our time and money and thought is wasted!

It will just be us this year. My little boy has many additional needs and last Christmas was an absolute total disaster so I really need to think about a way of making it work for him.

Massive long post but i love christmas and im super excited to join in with a thread with like minded souls :D

this makes me faint with happiness to think the resource is being read and used. The previous threads are fantastic !! you've made my day ♥

Well I am delighted to say I've started! I currently have rhubarb and ginger gin infusing and BlackBerry vodka. I've started them.first as they take the longest to infuse (2-3 months before bottling) and onve they are done ill get the vanilla vodka started and the gingerbread vodka as they take a lot less time :) very pleased with myself. I will have some pretty labels made up nearer the time as I have a very good and reasons my priced supplier and they will look way nicer than anything I can attempt.
I'm trying to find a nice way to tell 2 good friends that I won't be buying for their children any more. I feel awful though as they are all still young. Might just send money instead.
