Working for sky?

I was just wondering if anyone has worked for sky as a home field service engineer. I've applied for one of these jobs but read a few bad reviews about it was just hoping for a bit more information from someone

i think any job has good and bad points and not everything works for everyone. my dad works for them and the hours can be long but he likes the job and the benefits work for him - free sky, private healthcare, bonuses, etc. he gets on with the people he works with and likes chatting with the public. so works for him!

Any idea of the days and hours he works?
  • I don't know anyone who's had that particular role, but I know a few people at Sky who have private healthcare benefits and eye tests, codes for family members to have Sky services for cheaper, childcare vouchers etc.

No day is the same. Some days, will be straight forward - erecting dishes and installing boxes with no or little obstacles. Then get days, where it's challenging to put a dish up and having issues on why a customer's box etc not working when you have tried several things on it and normally resolves 99.9% of the time

Anyone have an idea on the days as I've seen reviews that it can be quite an unsociable job

you will be working weekends but not every weekend. for example my dad has done a month of mon-fri but he has also done some weeks where he has had off 2 days during the week and then worked saturday and sunday. he doesn't work any later than 8pm - nobody wants a tv engineer in their house after dinner!

Ok. Thank you for the info. May not be great for me with a newborn baby. If I don't have set days then it makes it hard to get childcare when my partner goes back to work
