Distance Learning- Information not provided correctly

HI

I signed up for an AAT level 2 course in July last year with a distance learning company for which I paid over £1300, they chased me and told me to sign up as soon as possible to avoid the syllabus change which was happening at the end of August the same year. I advised that due to starting a new role at work I wouldn't be able to start studying until the September. They said I should sign up now and start whenever I want and wouldn't need to do anything extra to avoid the extra charges with new syllabus.

To complete the exams I would need an AAT number, as advised by an email 11th August. I received a reminder email in September, so when I started studying I obtained one.

Due to various job changes and responsibilities I was only prepared for my exam in the following March, I completed the online assignment and booked my exam. The day before my exam the distance learning company called me and advised that I hadn't obtained my AAT number before the deadline of 31st August 2016 (a deadline not mentioned to me in any correspondence), so couldn't complete my exams.

They advised me that to be able to complete the course I would have to move to the 2016 syllabus pay £100.00 to be transferred, an extra £300.00 for 12 months tutorial support, and £55.00 to be supplied with the training books.

I complained and have been back and forth and all they have offered me is to waive the £100.00 transfer fee.

I am now at an impasse, I am on a course that I am unable to complete any exams on.

Do I have any rights here, as it is the company who are supplying the course who missed out vital information that was prevalent to me being able to complete the course and are now asking for extra money to rectify there mistake
