Self Employed Help!

My partner and I have recently applied for our first mortgage.

He is self employed and has just in the last 8-9 months opened a second business. What I need to know is how does this affect the mortgage application?

We have submitted the last 3 years SA302 forms which only include income from the first business as the second hasn't been running long enough to have a tax return except this years which is still in a backlog with the accountant.

Can we supply bank statements for both companies as proof of income as this is essentially what he is making now?

I hope someone understands this as my MA doesn't seem to want us to submit both even though it will double what my partner is bringing in.
