Dmp mess

My dmp is in absolute state. For the past few months I've been going through a bad time at home (no excuse just what's happening) and have had to use payday loans and other forms of credit it get by and now it's all a mess. I don't want to ruin my dmp but now things have settled and we're back to normal I'm left with the mess. I don't want to tell stepchange as I'm scared they will and rightly so end dmp. But I can't afford to pay everything and I feel exactly like I did 8 months ago before I started my dmp. Just can't believe I got into this state again! IF I added more creditors to my dmp but also put in more money as car payments have ended now Don you think I would have a fighting chance ?

    Hi,

Yes you can add creditors, it's nothing they haven't seen before.

You will have to explain yourself, but you arnt the first to do this.

Add them to your DMP, re-jig your budget, you will be fine.

Try not to use payday lenders again.

I know it's too late now, but if you were struggling with DMP payments you should really have went to Step Change and they would've assisted you, even if it meant suspending payments to your existing creditors. It's better than getting into more debt.

Contact them ASAP, they will help you. Don't hide from them, or anyone else who are there to help as they've seen this all before and will not judge you.

In debt and looking for help? Look here for the MSE Debt Help Guide.
Also, If you need any free and impartial debt advice, the National Debtline, Stepchange, and the CAB can help.
