Barclays Screening Process

I feel a bit daft asking for advice here as I'm fairly sure I will be fine...but just want some reassurance I think.
I have been offered a job with Barclays, in the training department, providing my screening is ok.
From a financial point of view I have a credit score of 523/700 with no CCJs or missed payments, a mortgage which is always paid on time and two loans totaling £4500 which are always paid on time.
I have been with my current company for 7.5 years so they should only need a reference from them and recently had a basic disclosure which didn't show anything.
Am I silly for being a little worried? How long should this take?
Thank you in advance for any help

I worked for Barclays long ago and as far as I'm aware their check is merely for the big alarm bells like CCJ's and bankruptcy, things of that sort of level.
My credit history was patchy at the time and I was fine.0 -
Have you any idea how long the basic criminal background check takes?0

They usually take as long as they take. You never know, some are quick, some are slow.0

I understand.
The job was offered to me late last Tuesday so I guess it's too soon for the background checks to come back...the waiting is so tense though!0 -
The wait is always the worst bit, but if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about.0

I'm going through the same process as you at the minute so thought i'd offer some experience from my side! I got offered a job to work barclaycard commercial payments ops team.
I have an extremely poor credit rating, I entered into a DMP back in 2011 following a dismissal from an organisation back in 2011. I have 4 defaults on my account but they are due to disappear in November this year and the DMP is due to end in October 2018.
I was really nervous about this too, but i declared everything, even as far as explaining about my dismissal (long story why I was dismissed but my boss wanted me gone after I accused her of bullying me).
Barclays not Hireright, asked for a copy of my dismissal documents to prove I was let go for those reasons, and because I had also mentioned in my disciplinary about being bullied all the notes to back up my story were there.
I received confirmation that I had passed stage 1 yesterday, but now onto stage 2 which happens 8 weeks post-employment. They shouldn't find anything I haven't already declared and had the same job the last 4 years, and one prior to that both of which will provide great references.
If I can pass stage 1, I'm sure you'll have no problems!March 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820
