Hi Sunshine, Well I am back on the board but unfortunately not granny technically yet. The hospital decided that they were no longer going to induce baby, so after 4 hours of hanging around, blood samples and urine samples etc we were sent home again.!! Back tomorrow to see the consultant and see what he says. (He told us to go in but a different doctor said NO!!). Its going to be first grandchild, but the second is following in 6 weeks or so. Both my twins are expecting babies But only one lives with me. Not that its not cost me a little bit as if one gets something the other one does!!
Seems funny not having to have the Tesco Delivery today, still got 25 meals worth to munch through.
Re the package its just Microsoft Money, (am I allowed to say that). But what I do is set up one Saying CASH, so I can track my spends, even the 25p here and there.
Loosing the business was hard, it split the family up, as it was a pub, we lived there. Councils wouldnt re house 3 of my kids with me as they are technically adults. at 18 and 21. So hence 2 bedrooms for My son and I. But Twin 1 joined us and so I sleep in the sitting room. She needs room for her and baby.
House was furnished by buying second hand furniture from Charity Shops.
All our clothes are, and even shoes, (if they are new).
Sorry I am rambling.
Good luck with your cut backs. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Hi sunshine, mooloo back. I have a beautiful granddaughter she arrived at 5.10 on Thursday 4th October. 7lb 91/2 oz. I dont know how to contact people on here? Its taken me 2 days to find the original thread as well.
Budget gone out of the window, with baby arriving, and second daughter taken into hospital last night. Parking fees at hospital have drained my purse of over £30 in the last 10days alone. Hope this gets to people, I spend all my time trying to find where I was searching the day before. Still off work sick, and recieved a letter from work telling me I am no longer entitled to full pay and have to go on £72.55 stat sick, my rent is £67.57 how do people cope? Anyone know if am entitled to any help as doctor signed me off for 4 more weeks at leastWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hiya,
I'm a newbie too - just psyching myself up to start my own diary. Nearly had a heart attack when I worked out my total debt yesterday!!!
Anyway, my only suggestion as regards your SOA would be re the contact lenses.
I was spending way too much on lenses so I got myself a cheap (but nice) pair of glasses which I wear during the weekdays, and I buy my daily disposable lenses from America online. The company is called AC Lens and I can get 3 months' worth plus postage for £47. Because I wear glasses most days, that stock of lenses can last me at least 6 months - usually more (except through the holiday seasons!)
Best of luck with the DFW challenge!!

Morning Everyone
Thought I would update on what's been happening. Had our car boot sale last weekend that went really well - £150 in all which meant that we could pay off the outstanding phone bill before it was cut off (£77) and then OH had to replace tyre on car so there was not a lot left out of that. It helped though I guess because we wouldnt have been able to find the money any other way.
Just sitting here this morning wondering what to do next. Me and OH have never had so many heated exchanges. At least sky and setanta are about to go - the argument had been that he didnt have any other luxuries. My argument asked him where my luxuries are - I havent been to the hairdressers for three months now and considering I have dark brown hair with lots of highlights, Ive had to figure out other way of trying to stay looking presentable. If I could just figure out a way of being able to dye it all brown myself then I'll just continue with the DIY hair at home.
Anyway, I was wondering whether, given the fact that we still cant seem to get our heads above water, whether it would be useful to go back to all the creditors who we currently have arrangements with to see if we can halve the payments. Im scared that at this rate me and OH are going to head for a divorce as things seem to be going from bad to worse.
In those moments of desperation I wonder whether we should try and remortgage (although I guess that's going to be much harder to obtain as OH has gone self employed so we have no audited accounts - or whatever you need to prove your income). Should I try and incorporate some of the debts into the Citifinancial loan which is due to finish May next year in an effort to reduce the monthly payments elsewhere (although I appreciate that means it taking longer to pay).
I wish I could just hand everything over to someone else to sort out for me because I dont have the energy to keep going with it some days.
This morning there is no cat food for the cats (two cats) - they have just started fighting in the kitchen, I know they are looking for their food this morning (will they eat cereal? Ive got some of that in - I did try the tin of tuna but they turned their noses up at it!) and there is no other money for a basic shop of the essentials other than bread and milk - we are about to run out of jam too(who says you cant live on jam butties!).
God, what am I like? I feel very sorry for myself this morning - can you tell:o
There is some good news though, I managed to get some over time in over the last two weeks and there is some available till the end of this month but I wont get paid any of it until mid November.
Thanks everyone, sorry to be such a misery today.

Morning Sunshine
Don't panic - I would say that with the credit union finishing soon and Getting rid of sky and Satanta that will be £100 pm better off to put to your debts! If you then reapply with credit union and ppay off what you can that will all help.
Can you not contact the debts with the highest interest and get it reduced or stopped??
It makes me mad thet the people who can least afford it are the ones paying most on their debts - sorry for the rant , but surely you can only squeeze people so much.
Keep on nibbling at it a bit at a time and it will improve.

sunshine,
Both of you sit down and write down what you think you can AFFORD to payback your creditors, not think about what they might accept. Creditors seem to think they have the right to bully you because you cannot afford to pay them back at the full amounts.BR 4/10/07
