Castle Trust bond FSCS protection

Can someone confirm that Castle Trust bond has FSCS protection up to £50,000?

They claim that. However it's an investment not a deposit so in theory you could still lose all your money.

The protection would be against fraud. But not against the investment falling in value.

The claim it is but it is difficult to see how it would get it. FSCS protection normally applies to retail products. These would be deposit takers or retail investments.

Bonds are not retail investments or deposits but a direct investment. So, you would not expect to see a bond have FSCS protection.

There have been quite a large number of cases over the last decade that got their FSCS protection status wrong. Indeed, the FSCS itself were not sure prior to the credit crunch in a number of cases. So, you cannot just accept that a company that says it gives FSCS protection actually is.
