Hi folks,
Anyone have a rough idea of how much I Can expect to pay a painter for approx a days work or less, painting outside of house, gable etc.
A day will definitely cover it as its not a big house.
Thanks

Is there height involved, do they need access ... will ladders suffice, do they need scaffold or a cherry picker
Are you providing materials?
Are you looking the cheapest quote ... expect about £60 for a boy from down the pub paid in cash
Quality tradesman with insurances, skillbase etc... expect to pay anything from £110 upward0 -
We're about to pay £150 per day (plus paint), but that's for indoor painting only.0

We had the exterior of our house painted recently and the painter charged £120 per day, excluding materials and any scaffolding that was needed.Smoke Free since 1 January 20130

Our experience has been that there are lots of people out there who will do some painting for you, few who could be considered pro decorators. The last time we got the interior done, the guy was painting on day one. This time we have a 2 week job and they will spend most of the first week just getting surfaces prepared. So there is a lot more to it than a good price.Always overestimating...0

Who mentioned paint? From the title, they want someone to go drinking with them.0

Thanks for all replies. Yep its outside painting, was thinking for about a days work a fair price would be around £150 mark.
Thanks for pointing out the typo.....wish I could go pinting with someone but low on the doagh...lol0 -
I suppose it depends on what you think a day is.
I've been quoted £200 (which I'm happy with) for a job spread over two days - papering & painting, but about 12 - 14 hrs in total.
When getting a 'day rate' I sorta expect 8 hrs 'on site' IYSWIM though quite often tradesmen seem to think it should be 8 hrs 'away from home' for them.0
