    Hi guys,

Just an update my TSB account is now live and active, i have seen my HR department who will now pay my wages into my new account, i am in the process of contacting my other 6 creditors i have an agreement with to take my weekly payments (£5 for each) from this new account.

My new question is now i have moved my account and moved DD over i now longer want to use my halifax account. My balance is - £2,750 i know i need to pay this back but can i call them say i want to close the account and that i can offer £100 a month to clear the balance etc?

At the momment im paying close to £100 a month just on fees. If they do not close the account obviously im still paying the 100 plus what i can afford to reduce the balance.

My credit score/file is already ruined for the next 6 years due to all my other debts so im not too botheres about the default right now. so what are my options? I think i would rather it go to a debt collecting agency because then im not paying the fees and i could start to pay it off. Is that an option? (As crazy as it sounds)

    Thanks guys

Yes you can ask if they'll do that but there is no guarantee they will. They may keep the account open but frozen and freeze the fees/interest though instead and they'll remove the overdraft facility so you can't get any deeper by paying some of it off then dipping back in.

I doubt that they would close the account because, if they accepted your offer of £100 a month and freeze the interest, they would have to convert it to a loan or something.
You best hope is exactly what Tarambor says above.
