TSB Mortgage Application

Hi Everyone
First time buyers, Just wondered if anyone has any experience with TSB mortgage process. Bank statements, wage slips and proof of deposit and ID's given. Valuation fee taken from bank yesterday and estate agent rang today to say valuation will take place on Tuesday. I guess I'm after some reassurance. Is it a good sign that valuation is going ahead or is it a case of valuation then will look at application and decide weather to approve it.
Thanks guys

Dont they agree a mortgage 'in principle' first?0

No idea. We talked to L&C brokers and they gave us a couple of lenders and seems that TSB was best option for us. There is a mortgage application summary from TSB on our case tracking on L&C. So not sure what checks if any have been done. I was under the impression that just because DIP is issued doesn't mean a mortgage offer will be. I'm probably asking the impossible question, nerves are kicking in now.0

I have been offered a mortgage 'in principle' I was asking for £30k over 10 years, when my thoughts became clearer and I spoke to Nationwide, they said I would be ok with £35k over 12 years0

Anyone else had experience with TSB?.0

My TSB valuation / survey fee was taken at application stage. Then I got the offer after that was carried out.0

Thanks for your reply. Hoping we get the offer after that too. Just nerve wracking as it seems like you said they take valuation fee on application so looks like decision won't be made until valuation done then they will look at documents and and credit check :undecided:.0
