Signed Contract ?

Currently in process of buying a house, all searches have been done. Contract on my behalf has been complete and signed. Have paid solicitor in full and transferred the deposit to solicitor also now. What are the next steps and how long do you think it will be for a competition? We haven't been given a date. There is no chain on either side the house is empty.

You are not given a date, you are an active participant in the process.

Your solicitor asks you for your preferred completion dates and puts them to the other solicitors in the chain. Everyone finally agrees on a compromise date, then contracts can be exchanged and the agreed completion date becomes legally binding.

What's the reason for the sale? Being empty doesn't necessarily equate to straightforward.

Man who lived there, died over a year ago. It was left to his niece who is selling it, it has been to court to sort out the estate and probate and all signed off
