Husband and I both have credit union loans, as a condition of them you build up savings in your share account, you cannot withdraw these out of the credit union for the term of the loan and the idea being that eventually your savings and loan balances would match and you can pay it early.
Well I was checking our accounts yesterday and realised we had about £1500 between both of us, called up and asked if we could just apply that to husbands loan(higher APR) even though some of it was in my name only but we could, so we did and wiped 6 months off the term of the loan :j:beer::j
Was completly giddy last night. :rotfl:

Check with them if you can make regular overpayments per month on Hubbies loan (to value of the joint savings) and see how quickly you can pay it off.
Interest on loan will outweigh interest on savings I reckonDebt is a symptom, solve the problem.0 -
Your not the only loon
I got excited about adding extra to my pension this week, just the idea that I dare to dream that I could actually sometime, one day maybe... in a galaxy far far away have at least the dream if not a remote possibility of actually being able to retire. 0 -
I got excited today when my installment of car finance was due (£351) but it never came out. As i got rid of it last month and bought a banger of a car for not much more! So that 351 can be used to start off an emergency fund! Can now be found in the Millionaire Challenge thread :beer:0
