Hi. Have been using the free Zone Alarm firewall for over four years. (over 2 years on broadband) It offers supurb protection.
Note, if using Windows XP......Xp has its own firewall built in. it has been know to conflict with the Zone Alarm firewall causing internet connection problems. If using The Zone Alarm (recommended) in favour to the Windows version you must deactivate the firewall in Windows. Alas, I dont have XP so cant tell you how to do it.

Also highly recommend SpywareBlaster to prevent spyware getting onto your PC. Its FREE.

ZA is a good product, and I use it. But If you don't want ad/spyware then you need "Adaware SE personal" Free and the best. Also get "Spybot search and destroy" it also works well and will get a few things might be missed by adawareSE.

I have not heard of spyware Blaster. So I can't comment on it. but for those who don't know - you have to be careful some "Spyware removers" actually do more harm than good.

Wig - SpywareBlaster is good, prevents most things ever installing that AdAware and Spybot S&D remove, and is recommended within Spybot. Use all 3, and maybe the Microsoft Anti-spyware as well.

... but I don't quite see the point of filling up the Freebies board with computer software.
