In default with MBNA, banking with Halifax

Hi there,
One of the debts included in my DMP is with MBNA. I just read somewhere else on the forum that they're now owned by Lloyds, who also own Halifax who I have had a current account with since starting my DMP.
The MBNA debt has since been sold on and now shows up under Link Financial on my credit file.
Is it risky to be banking with Halifax while this debt still exists, even if it's now owned by Link?
Any advice much appreciated. Don't really want to go through the whole fiasco of switching current accounts but then again don't want a nasty surprise!
Thanks xx

If it's been sold, then Halifax are no longer linked to the creditor.

Cool, thanks. It's definitely been sold as my payments from Paylan go to Link instead of MBNA now. Just wanted to check! Is it likely a creditor would do this anyone once a payment plan is agreed?LBM August 2013 - debt: £27,181

Don't assume payments to Link mean it has been sold. It could just be managed by Link on behalf on MBNA.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
How do I find out? It's also under Link on my credit file, is that an indication it's been sold? Whereas my Natwest ones, while being managed by Westcot, still show up under Natwest.LBM August 2013 - debt: £27,181

Weird. On Noddle it's down as Link, but Clearscore still has MBNA. Worth switching to be on the safe side?LBM August 2013 - debt: £27,181
