Hi all,
Due to long term illness my wife stopped working at the end of December, I've just been online and filled out a form P50 without realising that since we are in the new tax year she now has to claim by writing a letter.
Does anyone have any idea how long (on average) these take to come through, and would anyone care to make a rough guess as to how much she may get back, based on total payment in 16/17 of £17,842 and total tax paid of £1917?
TIA
James

As a MSE convert you need to be encouraging her to be earning some interest via all the high(!) interest current account available.
And would you benefit if she applied for Marriage Allowance for this current tax year, 2017:18?0 -
Thanks Chrisbur.
Dazed and Confused, I'm not a basic rate taxpayer. Thanks anyway.0 -
