London station to Chelmsford with 60+ Oyster

I need to buy a ticket for part of my journey. I have the Oyster 60+ card, so can someone tell me which station do I need to buy my ticket from to get to Chelsmford? If I get on the train at either Stratford or London Liverpool street. Will buying it from Shenfield to Chelsmford be okay? My research is confusing me. I cannot work out if Harold Wood or Shenfield is the last station that is covered by the Zone 6 part of the Oyster 60+ card. Looking at Greater Anglia it seems to be Shenfield but looking at the TfL tube map it seems to be Harold Wood.

On such occasions I buy my ticket at the ticket office. They work out the correct price.

The Oystercard covers you to Shenfield. Just present your 60+ Card and ask for an extension to Chelmsford.
However there is no TFL service beyond Brentwood until late May, due to Crossrail works, so you'll need to use Greater Anglia services from L. St or Stratford. Assuming your journey is this month.

Thank you, I did note that the TfL map was 2015 and I thought the Greater Anglia information was probably more up to date. I will visit Teddington station at lunchtime and see if I can get the ticket there or need to get it at a bigger station, like Richmond.

You can buy it at any rail ticket office I think.
Please note amendment above re Crossrail.

If you're coming back the same say (or just travelling one way) just ask for a Boundary Zone 6 to Chelmsford, then you won't have to change trains and can board a direct service from Liverpool Street

Thanks, mission accomplished. Teddington gave me a "Boundary Zone 6" card. £7.30
