How many of you have successfully made a career change?

I change careers every few years! Always a step up though - never a step back.0

Wow that is commitment. Can I ask what degree you did? Did you commute in or live in halls? How did you get on with other students?
Always had an urge at the back of my mind to just drop everything and head to university if a career change demanded it, but hesitant because of the lack of income and being a mature student amongst people mostly 19-21.
Well done for going for it.
Some courses attract more mature students than others. On my nursing degree course, I'd say about 60% were straight from school or college, the other 40% ranged from mid twenties up to mid fifties, and they were people from all kinds of backgrounds and situations.0 -

I studied to become a diagnostic radiographer. Id say the age split of my course was 50/50 between students straight from A levels, and those aged 30+. I wasnt even the eldest on my course, there was someone in their early fifties who trained alongside me.
The lack of income was hard, i basically lived on CCs to fill the shortfalls, but i just accepted that as a necessary evil. I didnt live in halls, as due to family commitments it was only possible to study/work within commuting distance, so my choice of uni was fairly limited.
But i love my new job and wish id had the oomph to make the change years ago. But hey, better late than never0
